Amelia Island is a thirteen-mile barrier island in Nassau County — the southernmost Sea Island and the northernmost of Florida's Atlantic barrier islands — holding the City of Fernandina Beach at the north end plus the unincorporated communities of Amelia City and American Beach to the south.

Getting a loaded truck in
There are only two bridges on and off the island, both feeding two-lane A1A, so a missed delivery window means a long backtrack. The resort communities are guarded-gate properties requiring advance vendor clearance and often restricting service-truck hours, and anything set near the beach means soft sand and narrow dune crossovers a loaded truck cannot cross.

The roads people actually use are SR 200 / A1A over the Thomas J. Shave Jr. Bridge, First Coast Highway down the island's spine, Amelia Island Parkway, and the George Crady Bridge at the far south end to Big Talbot Island. If the site is hard to describe, name the nearest of Fort Clinch State Park at the north tip, Amelia Island State Park at the south tip, American Beach and the A.L. Lewis Museum, The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, and the Omni Amelia Island Resort - that gets a driver closer than a pin does.
Further ahead than a standard unit, and considerably further for wedding season or anything falling on a big weekend. There are far fewer trailers in circulation than standard units.
Deliveries and collections run Monday to Saturday. For a Saturday event, a Friday drop is the comfortable answer rather than a same-day one.
They can, and often that is the sensible order - it turns a delivery window into a delivery day. The unit only needs firm ground and a route in.
