Why this is so short

Most privacy policies are long because most websites collect a lot. This one does not. There is no shopping cart, no account to create, no booking form, no newsletter, no email address anywhere on the site, and nothing to log in to. Every enquiry we take comes in over the telephone.

That removes almost every category of data collection a policy like this normally has to describe. What follows is what genuinely applies.

What happens when you call

When you telephone Jacksonville Porta Potty you will tell us what you need in order for us to quote and deliver: a name, a callback number, the site or venue address, and details about the job. We keep that to prepare the quote, schedule the delivery and servicing, and invoice you afterwards. We keep it for as long as the working relationship and our ordinary business and tax record-keeping require, and then no longer.

Your telephone number reaches us through the normal telephone network. We do not use it to add you to a marketing list.

What happens when you visit this website

This site is made of static pages. It has no login, no cart, no form and no comment section, so there is nothing here that asks you to type anything about yourself.

Like any website, the server that delivers these pages records ordinary technical request information - the IP address making the request, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. That is standard web server logging, it is used to keep the site working and secure, and it is not connected to your identity or to a later phone call.

Two features on this site load content from third parties, and those parties will see the request your browser makes to them:

• The map embedded on the contact page is served by Google. If you view that page, Google receives the request that loads the map and applies its own privacy terms to it.
• The typefaces used on these pages are loaded from Google Fonts, which likewise sees the request your browser makes for the font files.

We do not run advertising pixels, cross-site trackers, remarketing tags or analytics profiles that follow you off this site.

Cookies

These pages do not set cookies of their own. The two embeds described above may set cookies under their own providers' terms, which are outside our control. Your browser settings govern what you allow.

Who we share information with

The people who need it to do the work: the crews who deliver and service your units, and the ordinary professional services any business uses to keep its books and meet its tax obligations. We do not sell information about you, we do not share it for anyone else's advertising, and we have never done either.

We would disclose information if a valid legal process required it, or where it was genuinely necessary to protect someone's safety or to establish or defend a legal claim.

Children

This is a business-to-business and homeowner service. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen.

If you are a California resident

The California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA gives California residents specific rights over personal information. Two statements are worth making plainly, because they are the ones people most want to know:

• We have never sold personal information, and we have never shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is therefore nothing for a Do Not Sell or Share request to opt out of.
• We do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond providing the service you asked for.

Subject to the statute's own limits, a California resident may ask what personal information we hold about them, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it - and will not be treated differently for asking. Telephone the number on this site to make the request; because everything we hold comes from a phone call, that is also the quickest way for us to find it.

If you are somewhere else

Other states have passed their own consumer privacy statutes, and most of them apply only to businesses above a size or data-volume threshold that a regional rental operation does not meet. Where a statute does not reach us, we would still rather answer the question than stand behind the threshold - so if you want to know what we hold, ask, and we will tell you.

Keeping it secure

What we hold is job and contact information used to run deliveries and invoicing. It is kept to the people who need it for that. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise, but there is deliberately very little here to lose.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
